6/4/2022 How to get rid of carpet beetlesCarpet Beetles. Most of us didn't even know they were a thing until we found one in our house and googled what it could be. You don't want to hire an exterminator, but you want to know what you can do to try and get rid of these small terrible pests.
If I was in your shoes, first thing I would do is start vacuuming your carpet and rugs every day until you no longer have a problem, this will help keep their population in check. Next, run to the store and rent a carpet steam cleaner and steam your carpets and rugs. Clothes, pillow cases, blankets, towels, etc., should all take a trip into the dryer and go through a cycle on high heat. If you have a handheld steamer, you can steam your clothes or any other fabrics to kill carpet beetle larvae and eggs. Last, take your vacuum hose tool attachment and run it along all tiny cracks and crevices, from under baseboards, to between floorboards, into closet corners, between couch segments, on animal mounts, and anywhere else that a carpet beetle or it's larvae could be hiding. If you do all the above, you may just get rid of your carpet beetle problem. In the instance that you do all the above and keep finding carpet beetles and their larvae, give your pest control professional a call and we'll help you get rid of them once and for all! Good luck!
